An interactive performance installation with elements of moving images and social media. These artists won the EFF Award in 2017 for ‘Best Experimental Film’ and ‘Best Art Direction’. In 2018 the duo Sarah Cockings and Harriet Fleuriot were back with another innovative project that was originally part of the Art Night London 2018.
During EFF the entrance of the Natlab building was transformed into a gameshow retail park and regenerative treatment studio for things. Together with Sarah and Harriet we invited visitors to bring items from their homes that they no longer needed or desired. Unwanted objects were then brought through a series of physical and virtual transformation using a custom-made human-controlled machine. The installation included live sound design by Luke Fraser.
Systematically analysed, processed and improved for a live audience, the reworked objects were returned to their owners. The processes were strengthened by a network of computers, projectors, screens and a PA system, with generated material that was played live in space and online, in addition to pre-producer video.
