When music videos migrated from television to the internet with the advent of YouTube in 2005, a dying art form came back to life. Watching an exceptional music video is always a delight. To watch a great video clip on a large cinema screen is certainly a rare pleasure. Music journalist Job de Wit regularly presents his best finds of musical and visual genres during his Fullscreen nights at the Amsterdam cinema De Balie and various festivals in the Netherlands, including IDFA and the Netherlands Film Festival. Director Jeroen Dankers will join Job for a talk about his work. Jeroen made videos for BLØF ft Ronnie Flex, Sef and Mozes and The Firstborn.
Job de Wit is an Amsterdam-based music journalist and former radio DJ. He has written for various magazines as diverse as OOR, Nieuwe Revu, VPRO Gids, Dagblad De Pers and Noisey. He also published a book about the early days of house music in the Netherlands (Roxy & de houserevolutie, 2008) and edited the pioneering online hip-hop platform State Magazine as well as dance music publication DJBroadcast.
